Stemmed by her vision to empower underprivileged women and youth, Lindy stepped up to her commitment and was the third runner up in the March election with eight candidates, receiving nearly 7,500 votes.

On Earth Day, GWLN salutes women leaders like WLW 2011 alumni Diti Mookherjee who started the Green Rhinos program to teach global youth how to become advocates for nature conservation. In West Bengal, Green Rhinos are lighting up villages with solar lamps, a renewable source of energy, so they can study at night.
