Happy Monday! The start to a relatively easy week, I like to see it as the calm before the storm. I say this because I really have no homework due this week but the next two weeks look rough. But instead of getting ahead and taking advantages of my time, I am confident in my procrastination skills. But to my credit I did meet with my advisor today for my mandatory spring advising meeting. This is yet another thing that I love about SCU, having to meet with your advisor really pushes you to build a relationship. Plus the school is so small, that you really do get to know your advisor.

I personally have met with mine multiple times and he really can put a face to my name. We discussed my schedule for the fall. It is so weird to think that I will be a sophomore! Next quarter I have to start my math sequence, definitely not looking forward to that, I will take a religion class, a political science 25, and sociology 1. I really enjoyed my sociology class this quarter and I decided I want to minor in it so that is why I am taking sociology 1. My schedule is not bad at all, and I am super excited for next year. But enough planning for next year, I still need to wrap this year up! I can’t believe the school year is almost over, I don’t want to leave SCU nor California for that matter! Well better take advantage of my time left!

Until next time,

The festivities are in the air here at SCU. There are decorations all around Benson and they really do brighten up the day. Today when I went to dinner the dinning room was completely decked out. There were table decorations as well as balloons and streamers all around. But the celebration did not end there, as I was enjoying my dinner the Salsa Clara team did a dance in the middle of the room. They all danced so well, made me kind of jealous, I wish I did not have two left foots. But anyway the festivities were fun, really drew attention upon a date that I really hadn’t concentrated on before.

But aside from the fun times to be had, I am in a very busy mode this week because I have many tests and papers due. What else is new huh? But aside from that I haven’t done anything too exciting. Today I went to the bookstore to buy my mom a mother’s day card, it is so weird that this will be the first year that I wont be with her. I chose a nice card and mailed it right away so I wouldn’t forget. I feel accomplished now that I did my good daughter deed of the day. Now to get back to work! Until next time!

So today I am in a great mood. My friend and I went to Starbucks for breakfast and it was really relaxing. It’s exactly what I need before my two back to back classes on Tuesday and Thursday. Most of the time it isn’t that bad, but sometimes it is absolutely dreadful to sit through two classes in a row.

On a brighter note, my friend and I discovered the best spot on campus to tan. I’ll let you guys in on our little secret. The best spot is the grassy area behind Sobrato hall. It is usually empty and lying on the grass is super comfy. Although the pool is fun too, it sometimes gets too crowded. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough for some tanning this weekend! But before I get to that fun stuff I need to do some more homework! Until next time!

Although I am looking forward to the lazy summer days back home with my friends I am sadden from the fact that I will leave behind my Swig dorm and friends. But I still have a nice amount of time left so I will wont let my thoughts linger on the future just yet.

On to another topic, I recently realized that I have way too many benson dinning points left. I had the preferred plan but I switched over to the basic plan for spring quarter. So my current dilemma is that I am ahead of the preferred plan still, but I think a couple more trips down to the cellar market should fix this problem. The cellar market is seriously one of my favorite places on campus. It has pretty much everything anyone could want. You can get ice cream, premade meals, snacks, or beverages. Plus it takes dinning points, so it is absolutely heavenly. Well now that I have professed my love for the cellar, I need to go advance on some work. Unitl next time!

Although I am bummed they will be home so quickly, I don’t think I’ll mind it too much because while they’ll be home I will still be in sunny California. But still it’ll be tough when I am trying to study for finals and they will be laying out having a carefree time. Anyway, another thought on my mind currently is what am I going to do with all of my stuff over the summer? I seriously need to figure out storage for the summer. I somehow have way more stuff right now than I had at the beginning of the year. It is going to be a definite struggle trying to pack up my little room with all that stuff. But that is too much of a sad thought right now, I don’t; want to think about leaving Swig or Santa Clara for the summer, I’ll miss this place too much. Okay well now I have some sociology reading calling my name. Until next time!

Such a pretty day here at Santa Clara, I hope it continue to be this nice during Preview days! But anyway, the week was not very successful, I procrastinated way too much and now I need to get down to business this weekend. But eh I don’t feel like worrying about that just yet, it’s only Friday! This week in retrospect went by so quickly, maybe a little too quickly! I still have to get around to doing my laundry that will get done eventually. Okay, seriously I think I missed the day we went over how to handle time management in class, I am failing miserably. Okay well I am going to go get my life in order, but I am over-exaggerating I just feel like I am way too busy already. Until next time!

Well all of them, art history continues to be my nemesis but at least I can say good- bye to it after this quarter. I love my sociology class and I might even minor in the subject now. I am really intrigued by the stuff we are doing right now and I hope that it continues to be this interesting. On the other hand my other two classes are political science 2 and Spanish 175, which are for my majors so I instantly love. Therefore spring quarter promises to be awesome because I love the majority of my classes and the weather should be nice. Okay well I am going to try to go stay on task so I don’t fall behind, until next time!!

Seriously guys the title is a complete and utter lie, just thought I would try and make someone fall for a trick. Happy April fools days everyone, I hope someone out there was able to successfully trick someone. I unfortunately was not able, but by contrast my friend was too successful with her trick. She called her mother and told her she’d been arrested, unfortunately for my friend her mother really did believe her and drove on down to campus even though she told her it was a joke. Although it was an unfortunate experience for her, it was pretty funny to watch. Anyway, today is a wonderful day because it is the start to my three-day weekend! No school tomorrow since it is Good Friday.

It is so crazy how week one is already over! I hope spring quarter does not fly by because I do not want freshman year to end, it has been too much fun. Speaking of which, it is also crazy to think how just a year ago I was making my college decision. Around this time a year ago I came to Santa Clara to attend preview days and I fell in love with the school. But enough nostalgia, time to enjoy the present and the three- day weekend I get to look forward to. I don’t have too much homework since it is still relatively early in the quarter so this should be quite a relaxing weekend. Well I am off to doing nothing productive, until next time!!

Finally back at Santa Clara!! I flew in yesterday and got to catch up with my friends. Today was my first day of classes; I had art history, which I am not excited for, and sociology, which seems promising. Tomorrow I have two classes as well, so my schedule is pretty much divided in half. The weather is not that great but it’s comfortable nonetheless. I picked up my books today, but it took forever, the line was so long! But new books always excite me for school, except for the act of actually reading them. I should probably be doing some major summer planning right now before my workload gets heavy but I just feel like relaxing some more. My spring break mentality better wear off soon. Okay well I am going to go attempt to organize my life, until next time!

Greetings from the Windy City! Sorry for not updating this earlier, I’ve been busy doing nothing at home all week. It has been so nice being home but it was no fun having a snow on Saturday. Luckily it melted away before it could accumulate. It is so nice not having to worry about schoolwork. I love being home and the weather is not too bad after all. Anyway, right now I am just making a list of all the things that I have to do before I leave. I need to order my books online, go buy supplies, and buy other stuff that I need. I am so excited to go back to school, just back to California in general. Spring quarter promises to be a blast.
Guess what? I AM DONE WITH FINALS. That is by far the best statement ever. It feels so good to be done, four days ago I felt like today would never arrive. Today was my last final and I felt pretty confident when I finished. Now I get to go enjoy the wonderful weather, pack for my flight home tomorrow, and most importantly sleep. I think I might be able to sleep for days once my caffeine high wears off. I am so excited to go back home and sleep in my own bed. I think the weather promises to be miserable, so that will motivate me to stay in bed all day. Argh now I have to go clean my room and make sure to take out the trash before I leave. Okay well I am beaming with happiness right now, so I am going to go be productive so I can sleep until tomorrow! Until next time!

Okay so the title to this blog is not true at all, but it is my current mindset. Finals week starts tomorrow and I feel that if I sleep I am wasting studying time. Okay, so I might be exaggerating, finals aren’t that bad. However, they are pretty stressful and no fun to go through. The mood around campus is very stressful and quiet which is not usual at all. But anyway tomorrow is Monday and hopefully the week will go by quickly. Hopefully not too quickly though, I need to do some serious studying. But finals week can also be kind of fun, pulling all nighters with friends while being stressed is kind of a neat experience. Although studying with friends is fun and all, I still find myself really wondering if I get any studying done. For the most part I do, but then at times I just give up and procrastinate. Well I need to get back to studying; it’s going to be a caffeine heavy week. Until next time!

So it’s finally Wednesday, this week has been going by super fast which is nice. But on the other hand I feel like I have gotten nothing really done, so I am going to have a pretty hectic weekend. Dead week, is just dead, I have no actual homework due so that means I get nothing done. Unfortunately I am feeling sick too, so this is absolutely horrible. I have the sniffles, nothing drastic, but still enough of an excuse for myself to sleep all day. I can’t wait for spring break, although I am going to miss my little Santa Clara home! However, right now I should be separating my laundry piles in preparation to go downstairs to do it, but I am seriously contemplating the idea of just letting it sit there until Friday. But for now I am going to go paint my nails and watch television as a treat for actually completing something on my to do list, blogging! Until next time!

It is such a nice day outside here at SCU today. Simply beautiful and it is serving to be a major distraction because now I do not want to get anything done today. Not okay especially since today is the beginning of dead week. I have so much to get done this week in preparation for finals. The one thing that I am not looking forward to is writing all of my research papers and essays, no motivation at all. But at least the weather is nice so that automatically puts everyone in a good mood.

I still cannot believe that this quarter is basically over, time flew by. Along those lines I can’t believe that I will be going home so soon, eleven days until I am back in Chicago!! So excited, although none of my friends will be home because they all have different spring breaks. But I am excited to spend time with my family. More like I am excited to sit around all day and do nothing but shop and eat. But the sad thing is that for the first time ever I am leaving behind a sunny place and going somewhere cold for spring break, I just hope it does not snow. Well I should really try and be productive now. Until next time!

Can you believe February is over? Seriously the shortest month of the year has flown on by. Tomorrow is the beginning of March, the month in which finals and spring break become a reality, truly bittersweet. So here it is Sunday night and I find myself yet again in the library staring at my daunting to do list. It holds quite a variety of things to do, everything from laundry to art history readings, to calling my mom. But right now I have no motivation to do any of it, so instead I decided to blog, which to my credit is also on my to do list!

But anyway, week nine starts tomorrow, and I can believe it, I’m swamped with readings and research papers. But other than that, life is just a peach. I’m kind of really sad that the quarter is ending, I don’t want freshman year to end! I honestly have a theory that freshman year is perhaps the greatest year in college. Everything is so new and that much more exciting. But I guess there is no need to be sad about something that still has not come to an end.

However, something that I am very excited about is the fact that I get to register for housing tomorrow! Although I love leaving in swig hall I cannot wait to live in one the dorms with bigger rooms next year. I’m hoping to live in campisi, but I have a feeling a lot of other people are too! I guess ill just have to keep my fingers crossed! Well I think this has been long enough of a break, until next time!
Seriously?

Hey!!

First of all I cannot believe that it is week eight already! This is absolutely crazy; this quarter has just flown by. But even though it is week eight already I feel like I still have an eternity until the quarter ends. I have so much homework to do everyday it is unreal. It’s not even the procrastination factor, I am just super swamped and it is no fun. I have three huge papers that are due this upcoming Monday and I just cant bring myself to write them. But the weather as always has continued to cheer up my day, except for today, it was rainy and windy which made walking to class unbearable.

Even though I have been complaining this whole time, life isn’t that shabby. I absolutely love it here at SCU and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. Today I registered for my spring classes, and although I did not get the political science class I wanted, I got everything else. Next quarter I’ll be taking art history, ways of understanding religion, sociology, and Spanish. I really like the classes I signed up for and the times at which they are taught. That is another thing I love about college, I love being able to make my own schedule and getting a nice routine going. Speaking of routine, today is my laundry day and I should probably go down to the basement to get it before I put it off any longer!!
Until next time!

So as predicted, I did absolutely no homework this weekend and am now suffering from the consequences. I really need to stop doing this to myself. But overall this was a very fun weekend. Friday was my birthday and it was so fun. Saturday I went into the city because I had to go to the museum for my art history class. It was a fun experience and beautiful day in the city. However it was a horrible day for traffic so it pretty much took my whole day. I attempted to do homework yesterday but it was a fail. So today I get the lovely pleasure of finding myself behind a mountain of homework. The weather was gorgeous outside today so I accomplished absolutely nothing. Not okay, oh well at least it’s a short week ahead!! Until next time!

Happy Monday! Bleh, this is not exciting at all. I have so much homework to do this week that it just seems unbearable. However, the weather is making it a little bit better. Also my birthday is on Friday, so I cannot wait for that. But it is strange that this will be my first birthday away from my family. Nonetheless it should be an exciting new experience. But before all that fun, I need to get through my art history midterm, which promises to be brutal. Thankfully this upcoming weekend will be a three- day weekend. I love these kinds of weekends but they are dangerous because they make me procrastinate even more. The weather is so nice that it is hard for me to concentrate and that it a very bad thing. I love the weather in California in February. Well I should really get back to my studying, well more list making for all the stuff I have to do! Until next time!

Happy Saturday! Seriously this month is going by so fast, I can’t believe the week is already over. The weather this past week was gorgeous, I am so spoiled with beautiful weather here. Today is kind of dreary and cold, no fun, which makes me, lack motivation to do homework even more. But ultimately lazy Saturdays are my favorite kind of days. But other than the weather life here at SCU has been very sweet. I applied to be an Orientation leader this past week. My group interview is this upcoming Thursday, I am super excited yet super anxious to see how it goes. But other than that not too much else is happening. I had a Spanish midterm last Thursday, which I am not looking forward to receiving this week. Well I think I might go try and be productive with homework now, but probably not.

Until next time!!

So I am super excited because it’s beginning to be my favorite time of the year. Yes I know Christmas has already passed, but I am talking about my birthday on February 12th. I know this totally sounds narcissistic but I am so excited. I just love the month of February in general; it’s a short sweet month. Oh and happy Monday, it’s yet another beautiful day at SCU, although the forecast for the rest of the week is rain, rain, and more rain. Huge bummer especially since my rain boots haven’t even been shipped yet either. Lets hope they arrive before the rain does, although that is very doubtful. I am not excited for this week, I have a Spanish midterm that I am really skeptical about and I have an essay due for my critical thinking and writing class. No fun for sure, but I did have a relaxing weekend.
I went on a little shopping adventure in San Jose with my friend. Although we managed to get lost for a huge part of the trip it was still a fun Saturday. Sunday was good as well; I had an awesome waffle from Benson, our cafeteria, for lunch and hit up the library to catch up on homework. Breakfast is definitely my favorite meal at Benson, so many good choices. I can’t really say the same for dinner, but it’s pretty good too I guess. I am excited for the week to be over, however it is only Monday so hopefully time will fly. On the other hand I cannot believe that it’s already the fifth week of school, this quarter is flying by. I am not a fan, I really do not want freshman year to end so quickly, it’s so fun because everything is so new. Okay well before I end this I shall share a little bit of m new found knowledge. The library is the best place to do homework, new concept huh? But no really, I get so much work done there! I seriously have been going pretty much everyday this quarter. I stay focused and I love how quiet it is there, I am mad I didn’t discover that place sooner! Okay well I’m off to the library, until next time!
