Dig gardening? Here's your fix

Santa Clara recently formed a Gardening Club, based out of the new 'Forge' community garden. Students, faculty, alumni and neighbors can attend formal volunteer hours or are free to work at the garden any time they wish. The club is especially looking for summer volunteers. Events planned for next year include potlucks, movie showings, community outreach and sustainable garden workshops.

Green a concert, catch a show

Volunteer to educate concertgoers about composting and recycling at the Country Throwdown! event at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View on Sunday, June 20. The venue proudly serves patrons using compostable cups, wrappers, napkins and utensils. Officials want volunteers to make sure music enthusiasts practice proper disposal. Volunteers will receive a work pass that will grant them access to the plaza and general admission lawn area throughout the show. They will also receive a sweet shirt for helping out!
