Winter Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop
Saturday, Jan. 11th, 10 am-12 pm | The Forge Garden

Learn how to prune your backyard fruit trees. Orchard and tree care specialist, Charlie Key, will discuss and demonstrate pruning basics, winter tree health and care, and more!

Please come prepared to be outside for this workshop (warm layers, sun hat/sunscreen, water bottle, etc).

This is a FREE workshop, open to the public and all ages. Please contact theforge@scu.edu if you have questions.

Garden to Table Spring 2014 Internships

Garden to Table is excited to announce our Spring 2014 internships, and boy do we have a wide range of options. Think Outside the Bottle Winter Kick-Off
Wednesday, Jan. 15th, 9am-11 pm | The Williman Room

Interested to learn more about why plastic bottled water is harmful for you and the environment? Stop by the Williman Room in Benson during your lunch break to learn about Think Outside the Bottle SCU! This student-lead, grassroots campaign promotes the use of tap water and encourages the SCU community to use resuable water bottles instead of plastic bottled water.

As part of San Jose Museum of Art's community-wide initiative, Around the Table, the de Saisset Museum and the Forge Garden are featuring photographs of the university garden, contributing to the local celebration and exploration of the role that food plays in our lives and community. Martin Luther King Jr. Day - Celebrate Dr. King's birthday

(Santa Clara Law) Center for Social Justice & Public Service Events presents an opportunity to celebrate Dr. King's birthday with readings from his Letter from Birmingham Jail. The Eco-Fashion & Art Show and Kick-off for the Energy Challenge
Thursday, Jan. 30th, Doors open: 7 pm, Show: 7:30 pm | The de Saisset Museum

Sponsored by the Center for Sustainability, Housing Office, & the de Saisset Museum, the annual Eco-Fashion & Art Show is returning to the de Saisset Museum! Also doubling as this year’s Residence Energy Challenge kick-off, the event will educate about the intersections of energy, sustainability and the fashion industry, premiere various designs from employees and students across campus, showcase art professor Ryan Reynold’s “Reduce, Reuse, Reimagine” art exhibition, and offer inspiring, hands-on art activities! Join us for a glamorous, environmentally-aware evening, and bring your friends!
