Silicon Valley Bike Coalition Annual Bike to Work Day
Thursday, May 8th
One day each year, on a warm May morning, Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition encourages commuters to leave their cars at home and join the tens of thousands of their fellow Bay Area residents in biking to work. Bike to Work Day is a vision of what the morning commute should look like: Parents and children, office workers, politicians, CEOs, all doing the unimaginable – enjoying their trips to work and school. Environmental Studies and Sciences Seminar: Return of the Native: Conservation Status of the Burrowing Owl in the Bay Area

Donations are currently being collected now until Thursday, May 8th in the SCCAP Office, Benson, Kennedy Commons, and residence hall lobbies. This clothing exchange (for students, staff, and students) seeks to serve the needs of local community organizations, including programs through SCCAP’s Homelessness Department, and raises awareness about reuse and recycling. International Day for Biological Diversity (or World Biodiversity Day) is a United Nations–sanctioned international day for the promotion of biodiversity issues. in 2014, the theme is Island Biodiversity. Drought Watch 2014: What's Happening and Why You Should Care

In December 2013, California Governor Jerry Brown convened an inter-agency task force to assess, and seek solutions for, the California drought, and appointed Secretary Karen Ross, of the California Department of Agriculture to lead the task force. Secretary Ross will address the scale and scope of the drought, the estimated impact and solutions for our state. Lunch provided.
