  •  Preserving the Harvest, Part 2: Tomatoes (Sept 6th)

    A workshop all about preserving and canning tomatoes and other produce. A variety of tomato recipes featuring fresh salsa, sundried tomatoes, frozen sauces, etc. will be shared!

    Details: Learn about the tools and equipment need to can tomatoes and other produce. Basic recipes and techniques will be covered, as well as recipes for non-shelf-stable goods, such as roasted tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, fresh salsa, and frozen sauces, ect.

     

    Topics include:

    • Basic ingredients and recipes
    • Equipment and instructions needed
    • Vegetables to use and how to prepare them

  •  Summer Hours

    Monday, Jun. 30, 2014
    New summer garden and volunteer hours are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9-11 am.

    New drop-in volunteering/ garden hours this summer are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-11 am. For volunteer groups larger than five, please arrange in advance via theforge@scu.edu. Come when you can, leave when you need to! All staff, faculty, community members, students, clubs, and organizations are welcome to attend.

    Visit, volunteer, meet friends and learn new skills. Produce is available at the weekly Friday Farm Stand from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm.
