Europe : Denmark : Copenhagen

The Biomedicine program is designed to give students insight into biotechnology-based methods for disease treatment and an understanding of the dynamics of drug discovery and development. Students will get an interdisciplinary perspective on how biotech research and business work together. Students on this program are required to take 15 semester credits which includes a Danish Language and Culture course.

This program focuses on psychological theory, research, and practice, with an emphasis on its application in a Danish and European context. You will critically analyze theory in relation to cultural and social differences in psychological practice, and learn to apply recent advances in psychological science to your own practical experiences. Latin America : Dominican Republic : Santo Domingo

Alou, Bautista, Franco, Guerrero, Ortiz, Martinez, Pujols?the Dominican Republic has produced more major league baseball players per capita than any other country in the world. Spend the summer in Santo Domingo examining the impact of sports on the culture, identity, and society of this island nation. Through Spanish language study, cultural activities, and facilitated interactions with Dominicans within and outside of the local sports world, studying abroad in Santo Domingo offers students unparalleled insight into the relationships between baseball and Caribbean culture and society.

This program consists of coursework, field work, internships, and a variety of cultural activities and excursions to study urban and rural community development. Students can take coursework in social theory and research methodology to support an Independent Capstone Project. Internship placements are available in a community-based organization or NGO. Students take courses at Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM). Instruction is in Spanish. Program recommended for major(s)/minor(s): Sociology, Spanish

Latin America : Ecuador : Galapagos

The IES Abroad Galapagos Direct Enrollment Program offers you the opportunity to experience the culturally rich and infinitely diverse environments of Ecuador. Although you will begin one of three specialized environmental tracks in historic Quito, the heart of the program takes place in the Galapagos Islands. You enroll in courses through the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), and its subsidiary the Galapagos Academic Institute for the Arts and Sciences (GAIAS).

Latin America : Ecuador : Quito and other locations

The University of Minnesota's Ecuador: Quito-International Development and Internship program allows students the opportunity to study one of the following tracks: art and cultural studies; public health; sustainability and the environment; education and literacy; entrepreneurship and alternative economies and social services. The program puts students in direct contact with the social and economic realities of actual communities and of people working within them to address complex problems. Through classes, field trips, internships and research, the program strives to establish a continual dialogue linking experience with theory and critical analysis. The MSID curriculum explores the theoretical and practical implications of international development and intercultural issues. Field experience is an integral part of all courses. Latin America : El Salvador : San Salvador

Casa de la Solidaridad offers students the unique opportunity to develop relationships with the Salvadoran people as they learn about the political, social, and economic realities of the country of El Salvador. During the program, students are immersed and become a part of a marginalized Salvadoran community, they take rigorous program courses at the University of Central America (UCA) and immerse themselves in the Spanish language. Students live in community which allows them to reflect on their experience through spiritual and communal support. Program recommended for major(s)/minor(s): Sociology, Spanish

Latin America : El Salvador : San Salvador

The summer program focuses on health care and public health in El Salvador and provides students with a unique opportunity to integrate direct immersion with people living in poor communities (praxis sites) and academic study. This intensive program will focus on what the health problems are in El Salvador, why the country has these health issues, and how they are being handled from both a medical response to disease and public health programs, which try to reduce the frequency of disease before people need medical care. Students participate in two academic courses: Health Care and Public Health in El Salvador (approved for ELSJ at SCU) and either Advanced or Conversational Spanish. These courses are designed to intentionally integrate students? experience in their praxis site with the academic discipline.

Students are able to choose from a wide range of courses including Writing, Sciences, Economics and Finance, Business and Management, History, English Literature and Linguistics, Law, Education and Anthropology, Philosophy, History of Art, Architecture, Film, Politics, and International Relations.

The Fulbright Commission Durham University Summer Institute is a four-week cultural and academic programme for US students held at Durham University in the UK. The theme of the institute is The Northern Borders of Empire to the Making of the Middle Ages. Students will participate in a major archaeological project focused on the northern edges of the Roman Empire in Britain playing a full part in the excavations and gaining first-hand knowledge and experience of UK archaeological professional practice.

The Fulbright Commission-University of Exeter Summer Institute is a four-week cultural and academic programme for US students held in London and at the University of Exeter in the UK. The theme of the institute is Leadership, Sustainability and the South West.The four-week Institute includes a seven day "Fulbright Week". It will be followed by three weeks where Fulbright Summer Institutes students will integrate with the others on the University of Exeter?s International Summer School. Fulbright Summer Institute students will join one of eight credit-rated pathways.
