Hiring - Peer Advisers 2008-09





The Study Abroad Peer Advisers are paid student positions at the International Programs Office. These juniors and seniors are recruited and hired from the International Ambassadors Program for specific leadership roles in international education on campus. Training begins in the Spring quarter; positions start in the Fall.


PEER ADVISER POSITIONS: The following positions are open to members of the International Ambassadors Program:

Marketing Coordinator – Responsible for the design and implementation of study abroad marketing strategies including classroom outreach efforts, online blogs, website updates, posters, ads, newsletter… view full job description and preferred qualifications

Special Projects Coordinator – Responsible for the overall leadership of various special projects including the Study Abroad Pre-Departure Orientation, Study Abroad Week, and the International Ambassadors Program… view full job description and preferred qualifications.

Exchange Student Support Coordinator – Responsible for the overall leadership of various programs aiming to support incoming international direct exchange students including the admission processes, Mentor Program, International Club, new international student orientation, and other social and cultural events… view full job description and preferred qualifications.

Workshop Series Coordinator – Responsible for the overall planning and implementation of workshops, information sessions, and other on-campus events related to prospective and returning study abroad students… view full job description and preferred qualifications.


QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be members of the International Ambassadors Program with study abroad experience, strong leadership and communication skills, ability to interact with diverse students, ability to work up to 20 hours a week at the International Programs Office, available for weekly team meetings.
