Program Overview

Spring 2014 Program -  Accepting New Applications

 

baja-island Applications are now being accepted to join the 2014 Expedition to Circumnavigate Isla Espiritu Santo. Ideal candidates are juniors and seniors majoring in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, and/or Biology. Only 16 applicants will be selected to participate in this year's expedition, which will take place during Spring Break, March 20-29. During the winter quarter, all expedition members must take both ENVS 142, Writing Natural History, which fulfills the advanced writing requirement, and ENVS 144, Natural History of Baja, which fulfills the lab science requirement.These classes will be offered within a single TR 1:45 time block. Cost for the expedition is $1,375 plus airfare, which usually costs around $700 for the round trip. All costs while abroad, including meals and transportation, are included in this package, as are the costs for tentage, kayak rental, et cetera. Candidates will be accepted into the program on a rolling basis, so submitting applications in early October is advised.
