Disaster Relief and Prevention

The first-ever symposium hosted by the Santa Clara Journal of International Law, with the support of the Institute of International and Comparative Law, posed the question about how to prevent natural disasters and construct mechanisms for efficient relief. Natural disasters, such as earthquakes, floods and hurricanes have doubled since the 1970’s. How should the world react to prevent these devastating events?
