Legal Citation Format

All SCJIL articles from Volumes 1 through 4 should be cited in conformity with Rules 16.4 and 18.2.6(b) of THE BLUEBOOK: A UNIFORM SYSTEM OF CITATION (18th ed.). Citation for Volumes 1 through 4 should follow this pattern:

[Author], [Title], [volume number] SANTA CLARA J. INT’L L. [page on which article begins], [span of specific pages cited] (date of publication), at [internet address for article].

Example:

Rachel L. Claus, Space-Based Fundamental Research and the ITAR: A Study in Vagueness, Overbreadth, and Prior Restraint, 2 SANTA CLARA INT’L L. 1, 32-34 (2004), at http://www.scu.edu/scjil/archive/v2_ClausArticle.shtml.

 

All SCJIL articles from Volumes 5 forward should be cited in conformity with Rules 16.4 and 18.2.6(b) of THE BLUEBOOK: A UNIFORM SYSTEM OF CITATION (18th ed.). Citation for Volumes should follow this pattern:
