Reminder: Last Day for Open Enrollment!!!

This year’s Open Enrollment Period was from October 31 – November 21, 2012.

The following are highlights for the 2013 benefit plans:

  1. Hearing aide services are added under Anthem Blue Cross plans
  2. MHN (Managed Health Network, Inc.) replaces UBH for Employee Assistance Program services
  3. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) benefits are available in 2013 with the following maximums: Medical Expense = $2,500 and Dependent Care = $5,000. Annual enrollment is required.
  4. Notice on the Voluntary Life Insurance: If you select Voluntary Life Insurance as your additional life insurance benefits, your benefit is not effective until you complete the required forms (Voluntary Life Insurance Application and Statement of Health forms) and your application is approved. Until your forms are processed and Santa Clara is notified of your approval you will not be covered nor charged for the request. Please contact your Benefits Specialist for any further questions. Reminder for Health Plan Waiver Credit

Employees who have other medical coverage available and choose not to enroll in the SCU medical plans will be able to elect the HealthCare Waiver credit of $150 per month ($75 per pay period). All employees who choose to waive out of medical coverage must complete a Health Care Waiver Form and provide proof of other insurance.

Reminder 403b Annual Limit Increase for 2013

The new annual limit for those employees under 50 years of age has been increased to $17,500 . For those employees over 50 years of age, the maximum limit is now at $23,000.

Today to assist you in reviewing the changes, the benefits team will be available to answer any questions until 5:00pm.
