Phillip Cooke SJ

Jesuit Social Entrepreneur in Residence

 Fr. Phil Cooke, SJ, connects the GSBI and its Silicon Valley acumen to entrepreneurial endeavors in the Jesuit social apostolate worldwide. His passion is to leverage pastoral needs, spirituality, and social entrepreneurship to create innovative programs that will help people trapped in poverty to create their own sustainable solutions. He has worked with at-risk youth in Los Angeles and Chicago and at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, implementing initiatives that advance social justice, education and the dignity of work. He holds a Masters of Divinity and a Sacred Theology Licentiate from the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara University. He was a pastor on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and presently serves on the board of St. Francis Mission on the Rosebud Indian Reservation. His research includes liberation theology, economic sustainability and social entrepreneurship.
