Victoria Yundt

Victoria Yundt is a junior with a major in Political Science at Santa Clara University. She grew up in Bend, Oregon and credits her family and friends for pushing her to continue to use her abilities to help people. Victoria says, ?If it were not for my amazing support system back in Bend, I would not be where I am today.? She spent the fall semester studying abroad at the University of Ghana, where she continued her studies in Political Science and interned at Beacon House orphanage for a Development Studies course she participated in while there. She would like to continue pursuing a career in community development and hopes to one day accomplish her dream of becoming a photojournalist. This fellowship appeals to her because she feels social entrepreneurship has the ability to not only empower a community, but also it gives citizens the chance to acquire skills that help develop and support their community. She has volunteered and worked in communities in Tanzania and Ghana and feels that both experiences have shaped and made her who she is today. She made a promise four years ago that she would continue to go wherever help was needed and that is what she indeed plans to do.
