Why do you want to serve as an International Ambassador at Santa Clara University?
I enjoyed my time abroad and I want to share my experiences with others to help them.
What were the deciding factors in choosing your study abroad program-location?
I knew I wanted to study somewhere in asia that had no language requirement.
Describe a defining moment in your abroad experiences and how that experience(s) has affected you personally, intellectually, vocational, spiritually, or academically.
About two weeks into my program I took a moment to reflect back on the fact that I had been in China for two weeks and struggled to learn so much vocabulary. I was so proud of myself that I was able to get around in a foreign country not knowing a single word my first day. I built the confidence I needed and felt I could accomplish anything I set my mind to.
What advises, recommendations would you give to prospective study abroad students? In retrospect, how would you prepare differently to maximize the study abroad experience?
Don't be intimated by studying abroad, at first it may seem scary but in the end it is a very rewarding experience. Looking back I wouldn't have changed a thing, though I wish I could have talked to someone who already had been in the program.
