Santa Clara University

Presidential Inauguration, Fr. Michael E. Engh, S.J.

From the Board of Trustees

The Inauguration of a new president provides us with a unique opportunity. It is a time when we are able to look back with pride on our accomplishments, and confirm our confidence in a future of great promise.

As an active member of the Santa Clara University community, you are vital to our mission of educating students of competence, conscience and compassion. Your support of the university advances the Ignatian vision of Santa Clara's co-founders, John Nobili, S.J. and Michael Accolti, S.J. when they established the college during California's Gold Rush. Throughout Santa Clara's history, outstanding teaching scholars have worked with students to ensure that they received an education that touched both their minds and their hearts and prepared them well for life and leadership. The same is true today.

We hope you will join us as we continue this tradition under the leadership of Michael E. Engh, S.J., an outstanding historian, leader, and Jesuit, as our 28th President.

A.C. Mike Markkula, Chairperson
