The U.S. Economy: What Now?—taught by Thomas Russell
The US economy has just gone through the worst recession since the Great Depression. Recovery, especially in jobs, is fragile, slow, and likely to remain so. In this class we address three questions. What happened? Was the response to the crisis appropriate? What are the prospects for the US economy going forward? Not just in the short run, say the next two years, but for the longer run, say the next decade. Class participation will be encouraged, so there will be lots of time for questions and answers.
