Freshmen

All students are required to attend Summer Orientation and are asked to select from one of the six sessions offered in July. These sessions will help you prepare for your first quarter at SCU. You will meet fellow students, learn more about your Residential Learning Community, become better acquainted with the campus, and register for fall quarter classes.

* Students participating in the University Honors Program are required to attend either Session 2 or Session 3.

** Students participating in the LEAD Scholars Program are required to attend either Session 5 or Session 6.

If you are a D-1 student athlete, you are strongly encouraged to attend session 3,4,5, or 6. If you would like to obtain permission to attend session 1, 2, 5, or 7, please contact Zoë Kranzler -zkranzler@scu.edu.

A limited number of spaces are also available in Session 7 (Sept. 18 & 19) for students with special circumstances. Requests to attend this session must be sent to orientation@scu.edu before May 1, 2013. Please include any documentation (flight itinerary, proof of employment) with your request. The Office of New Student Programs will begin reviewing requests on April 8, 2013. All requests will be reviewed in the order received. Because space in this session is limited and not all requests will be approved, students are asked to sign up for one of the six July sessions above. If your request is approved, we will move you to the September orientation session and send a new confirmation.
 

International Students

In September, we offer an orientation session for students who can't make it to a July Orientation session. If you are an international student who is unable to attend a July session, please sign up for Orientation Session 7 on September 18-19, 2013. In addition to Orientation, International students are required to attend a Visa workshop.
