Advanced Placement Exam Information
Know your scores!
Santa Clara University participates in the Advanced Placement Program to recognize college-level academic achievement prior to matriculation and to encourage students to pursue advanced studies in their area of interest. Credit or placement is determined by the appropriate department based on review of the student's advanced placement scores, sometimes in the context of supplemental departmental examinations. Usually a score of 4 or 5 is required for credit to be granted.
Only some Core Curriculum requirements can be satisfied with Advanced Placement test credit: Second Language, Mathematics, Natural Science, and Social Science.
It is important for you to know your exam scores for academic planning during Summer Orientation.
You can obtain your scores by phone in July by calling the testing service at 1-888-308-0013. When you call, have your AP number or Social Security number, your birth date, and a valid credit card on hand.
For your scores to be posted to your academic transcript, you will need to order a copy of your scores to be sent to:
