  •  Brienne Ghafourifar

    A story in Patch.com about SCU alumna Brienne Ghafourifar netting $1 million for her startup before her 18th birthday was carried in dozens of affiliated Patch sites. 

  •  Elizabeth Drescher

    Elizabeth Drescher (Religious Studies) spoke to CNN Belief about the Twitter phenomenon #PrayforOklahoma. She also wrote for Religion Dispatches about one church’s interesting response to being vandalized by graffiti. 

  •  Claudia Fernandez

    Student Claudia Fernandez was quoted in a CNN Money story picked up by numerous other outlets for her commitment to social justice in a decision to protest Gap over the bangladesh factory fire. 

  •  Arid Senzai

    Farid Senzai (Political Science) was quoted for his role as an adviser to a Pew Muslim research survey. The article ran in USA Today, the Louisville Courier and more than a dozen other news outlets.  

  •  Tammy Madsen

    Tammy Madsen (Management) was quoted in a segment on NPR's Marketplace, discussing Google's "Now" product, which aims to compete with the iPhone's Siri. 

  •  2013 Solar Decathlon Team

    The 2013 Solar Decathlon Team (Enginering) was featured in a San Jose Mercury News article syndicated across the Bay Area about the competition. NBC Bay Area News and KLIV radio also covered their groundbreaking event. 

  •  Meir Statman

    Meir Statman (Finance) wrote the anchor article on getting a grip on your emotions when investing, for the Wall Street Journal's Wealth Management Report special section. He also participated in a video discussing emotional investing, and was featured in a three-page spread in Money magazine discussing his radical idea to force Americans to save for retirement, rather than using friendly persuasion. He also was quoted in a widely reprinted ETFGuide story, Financial Planning magazine, and Investment News online. 

  •  Deep Gulasekaram

    Deep Gulasekaram (Law) wrote an op-ed on guns and immigration as barometers of who gets to be an American, for USA Today. It ran in more than a dozen other outlets as well.  

  •  Ron Danielson

    Ron Danielson (CIO) spoke to KLIV about online learning at SCU and elsewhere for two special reports on the topic.
