Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University

Housing

The Jesuit School of Theology owns three student apartment buildings, and also maintains three intentional lay student communities. The lay communities are located in two local parish rectories and in one of the apartment buildings. JSTB owned student apartments are in the following locations:
  • 2600 Virginia Street, next door to the JSTB Academic Center. This building is primarily for our lay students, and has one and two bedroom apartments and double suites, as well as the six-student Jean Donovan Lay Community.

  • O'Keefe House located at 2517 Virginia Street, one block from the JSTB Academic Center. This building contains furnished studio apartments and some faculty housing.

  • Corcoran House, at 2564 Virginia Street, one block from the JSTB Academic Center, is priority housing for the school's sabbatical students, and there is usually space available for students in other programs as well. These are one and two bedroom apartments.

All our units have basic furnishings -- bed, dresser, desk, chairs, etc. -- and basic kitchen appliances and implements. Rents range from $350-$575 in lay community housing and from $680-$1050/person in the apartment units, depending on the type of accommodation.

We also have access to other housing resources such as religious communities and rectories, residence halls and apartments at other GTU schools, and apartment listings from local landlords who rent to GTU students. We are happy to assist you in accessing these resources.

To apply for housing, or to request assistance in finding off-campus housing, submit the Student Housing Information Profile to the Housing Assistant when you apply for admission. Once you've been accepted for admission to the Jesuit School, the Housing Assistant will contact you. If you are planning a visit to the school, you may want to make an appointment with the Dean of Students for more information about housing.
