Many communities of women religious in Asia are seeking ways to provide the support and training needed for the next generation of leaders in the Church. Political, geographical, and social barriers prevent many in religious life, especially women, from attaining a solid foundation in theology. Through the generosity of the Henry Luce Foundation, the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University (JST-SCU) has received a unique opportunity to invite women religious from Asia to study with us, with some partial and some full scholarships. JST-SCU in Berkeley, California is uniquely positioned on the Pacific Rim to provide a "port of entry" for world class theological education.
