Rob McChesney, S.J., serves as Director of the New Directions Sabbatical Program. He has served as a Jesuit priest for over 25 years. Prior to his arrival at JST, Rob served as prison chaplain in a federal immigration detention center, director of the Jesuit Refugee Service in the United States, and as a university chaplain in a major urban area. He has wide experience in spiritual formation and direction, as well as leadership development within an intercultural framework. Alexandra Diaz, Program Assistant
Alexandra Diaz is the Program Assistant for the New Directions Sabbatical Program and the Intercultural Initiatives Program. She is a Bay Area native and attended the University of San Francisco where she received a BA in International Studies specifically focused on European and Latin American politics and history. She also holds a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) from St. Giles, San Francisco. Alex joined JST in the fall of 2014 after returning from Shanghai, China where she had been teaching English to local Chinese children. She is very involved with Girl Scouts of Northern California and has strong interests in International Education and Study Abroad programs.
