New Directions ClassesNew Directions is for personal and professional renewal of those engaged in ecclesial ministry. You will meet with the Program Director as your Academic Advisor at the beginning of the semester, and he will guide you through the registration process to choose two courses for "audit". Audit means that you take the class without being required to take any tests or write any papers. Your two classes are for personal and professional enrichment, not for an academic grade. "No tests, no papers, no pressure"!
WorkshopsEach Wednesday morning a sabbatical workshop is offered exclusively for New Directions participants. This is a privileged opportunity to enhance personal integration in companionship with one's peers, and to prepare for new directions in ministry. Additionally, there will be opportunity to address themes and topics of significance for the church fifty years after Vatican II. Themes addressed in recent years include: Art, Religion and Spirituality; Praying the Psalms; Transition and Transformation; Vatican II at 50 Years of Age; The Gifts of Aging; Enneagram; Identifying your Strengths; Compassionate Listening; Mary for the 21st Century; Preferential Option for the Poor; Praying the New Roman Missal; Jesus Kept Kosher; Theology, Spirituality and Aesthetics; Spirituality and Vulnerability; and the Gospel of John.
