About the Professor
Ajer is a Ph.D. candidate at the Graduate Theological Union in biblical studies, New Testament, with a complementary concentration in peace and conflict studies. Ajer's interest in peace and conflict studies was born from his childhood experiences of war in northern Uganda, in east Africa. These experiences shaped him to continuously seek for peace. Ajer has taught as a guest lecturer at the University of California's School of Peace and Conflict Studies, twice on the Bible and non-violence and once in a course about peace building through conflict transformation. His dissertation employs modern theories of political and social geography to determine how space and human interaction are constructed to fulfill political functions in the Fourth Gospel's narrative of the death of Jesus.
