Liturgical Life and Spirituality
|
Liturgical prayer is another traditional means of carrying out integral formation in the Roman Catholic tradition. In Fall 2007 the president of the Jesuit School of Theology formed a committee to examine and assess the role of liturgy in the life of the Jesuit School. The committee met during the 2007-2008 academic year, conducted interviews, constructed and distributed an online questionnaire, interpreted the results of the accumulated data, and wrote a “Mission Statement for Liturgy”. Tuesday Evening Mass and SupperEach Tuesday evening the Jesuit School community gathers for Eucharist at 5:15 p.m., followed by a soup and salad supper. After supper, students and staff are offered presentations on a variety of topics, many of which touch upon Ignatian spirituality. On an informal level, this “community night” has done much to foster integral formation for many students. |
