  • Department description The Student Call Center works as a direct link to Santa Clara University's alumni, donors, and parents by phone, to ask for financial contributions to much needed areas of the University such as scholarships, operating expenses, and capital improvements. As part of the Student Call Center team, the student is trained to represent SCU as an ambassador by educating, encouraging, and updating our donor base regarding the importance of annual, unrestricted support. This position is only open to undergraduate students.
    Qualifications Qualifications include being someone who is organized; detail-oriented; reliable and trustworthy; desire to set personal goals; determined and takes initiative; desire to develop strong sales skills; ability to follow directions; strong oral communication skills; strong personal time management abilities. In addition, we are looking for students who are team players with good leadership skills, enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills, and passionate about being part of the Santa Clara University community.
    Duties and responsibilities We call SCU alumni, parents, and friends to update the prospect's contact information; inform them about recent and upcoming events; ask them to support Santa Clara University with a monetary gift to the Santa Clara Fund; thank the prospect for their contribution; and remind the prospect to complete the transaction, including matching gifts. Also, a minimum of 3 shifts per week of 3 hours each shift is required, as well as maintaining and projecting a positive and energetic attitude towards colleagues, staff, and prospects; assisting with general clerical duties as needed; and assisting University Relations events such as President's Club Dinner, a donor appreciation event, and Parent's Weekend.
