SPRING is in the AIR!
For those who live in colder climates, it may be difficult to believe we're experiencing 70 degree weather here at Santa Clara University! Spring is most certainly in the air! As Winter Quarter comes to a close (we're already at the end of Week 8) and students begin to look toward Finals and Spring Break, we hope the information and updates in this newsletter are helpful!

HOUSING APPLICATION FOR CURRENT FRESHMEN
The housing application for current Freshmen residents becomes available via eCampus on Tuesday, March 5th. The deadline for completion is April 1st. Please read our full story to find out details regarding the application process.

PARENT & FAMILY WEEKEND - HOUSING PRESENTATION
For those parents and family members who were unable to join us for Parent & Family Weekend, or who couldn't make the Housing Information Session during the weekend, we have included the Housing presentation here. The presentation covered SCU on-campus housing accommodations, the benefits of living on-campus, overview of the Residential Learning Communities, housing policies, housing for study abroad students, and the housing application process for returning students. The housing application process is outlined in the previous story as well as on the SCU Housing website.

WINTER QUARTER FINAL EXAMS & SPRING BREAK!
Winter Quarter Final Exams begin on Monday, March 18th. During Finals Week, the Offices of Housing & Residence Life do expect all students within the residence halls to abide by 24 Hour Quiet Hours to foster and encourage a quiet environment during this exam preparation period. Spring Break begins on Saturday, March 23rd. Unlike Winter Break, the residence halls do not close during Spring Break and so residents are permitted to stay on-campus within their residence halls. We wish all students a safe, relaxing, and respite-filled Spring Break!
Spring Quarter classes begin on Tuesday, April 2nd!

THE MOST AMAZING ROOM CONTEST!
We are currently in the midst of the "Most Amazing Room Facebook Contest"! Housing residents were encouraged to submit an image of their on-campus room to the Housing Office. Images are anonymously being posted to the SCU Housing Office Facebook page and will remain posted throughout the coming week. The images which receive the most "LIKES" will win AMAZING PRIZES!! Perhaps your student submitted a contending image!

4TH ANNUAL ENERGY CHALLENGE
The Energy Challenge, which took place throughout the month of February, encouraged campus residents to examine their power usage and find ways to reduce wasted energy use. Rather than rivaling against one another, residence halls attempted to reduce their building's electricity consumption in comparison to historical use.

DELICIOUS FOOD! CONVENIENT LOCATION!
Benson Memorial Center is home to three campus cafes which feature a great student-centered ambiance and innovative menus making them ideal destinations when dining at SCU with a Dining Meal Plan! Between The Marketplace, The Bronco and Mission Bakery & Cafe, students are bound to find meals that meet and exceed their dietary needs!
