A Note to the Class of 2010
As you approach the big graduation day, we ask that you consider making a gift back to SCU, to support future Broncos like you.
What are we asking you to give?
A gift of any size to anywhere department, scholarship, or team at SCU! You can designate specifically what your gift will support – or consider giving to the Santa Clara Fund, which goes to help support all current undergraduates with scholarships, academic programs, immersion trips, study abroad opportunities, and student endeavors.
Why are we asking you to give?
Here are a few things you may or may not know about SCU:
- Giving back to SCU is a Bronco tradition. At SCU, tuition and fees only cover 75% of what it actually costs to attend. The other 25% is made up by SCU alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and the Senior Class before you (2009).
- The number of SCU alumni that give back to the University every year is a factor used to determine the school’s national ranking. By giving back, you are actually helping to increase the value of your degree.
- Over the past decade, the participation rate (number of students and alumni giving back to SCU) has been steadily declining. 10 years ago nearly 28% of our students and alumni supported the university, and only 15% gave back to the university in 2009. Its time that we take action and show our support for SCU.

Would you like to be part of the 2010 Senior Gift Committee? Join other Seniors who have already committed to supporting Santa Clara and who are talking to your friends and classmates about making a gift as well. A couple of meetings will provide you with the information you need to talk to classmates about the Senior Gift—and there will be some fun events involved!
The class of 2010 is trying to reach 100% participation in the class gift.
Every gift counts toward reaching our goal, so whether you can give $5, $20.10 or $50, your gift will make a difference for students following in your footsteps!
