You can be considered by applying for aid through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE forms as well as your Undergraduate Admission application.

Santa Clara University Grant
An award offered to students demonstrating financial need. The Santa Clara University Grant is renewable for up to four years (12 quarters), but must be coordinated with any other financial aid that might be awarded at a later date including state or federal aid. Award amounts vary, depending on the number of qualified students and the availability of funds. In addition, students must maintain good academic status in order to retain this award.

Santa Clara University Student Grant
The Santa Clara University Student Grant is a personal recognition award. It is not an academic merit award, nor a need-based award. It is awarded to those select individuals who are not receiving other forms of university assistance, and who will improve the characteristics of the entering class by virtue of the degree to which we are able to foster a stronger spirit of inclusive excellence among our students as measured by geographic, gender, economic and ethnic diversity of the freshman class. Award amounts vary, depending on the number of qualified students and the availability of funds. The SCU Grant is a fixed amount and is not indexed to changes in tuition; therefore, the grant will not increase annually. The award is renewable for up to four years (12 quarters), and must be coordinated with any other financial aid that might be awarded at a later date including state or federal aid. Students must maintain good academic status in order to retain this award.

Jesuit Ignatian Award
The Jesuit Ignatian Award offered to academically outstanding students who graduated from a Jesuit high school. Awards will vary, depending on the number of qualified students and the availability of funds. The award is renewable for up to four years, but must be coordinated with any other financial aid that might be awarded at a later date including state or federal aid. In addition, the Jesuit Ignatian Award is a fixed amount and is not indexed to changes in tuition; therefore, the scholarship will not increase annually. Students must maintain good academic status in order to retain this award.

Santa Clara University Third-Child Grant
Santa Clara University Third-Child Grant for families with three or more dependent children simultaneously enrolled in undergraduate programs at Santa Clara University. A tuition grant of 50 percent will be awarded to the student who is farthest along in his or her studies. To apply, parents must submit a written request along with a copy of their 2008 tax return that lists all three Santa Clara University undergraduate students as dependents.

Alumni Family Scholarship
A limited number of need-based scholarships are awarded each year to children and grandchildren of Santa Clara University Undergraduate Alumni. Candidates are identified from information contained in the application for admission and decisions are made by the Alumni Family Committee in consultation with the Financial Aid Office. Criteria for selection include financial need, academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, and demonstrated leadership ability. Students who are selected to receive a scholarship will be notified with an award letter from the Financial Aid Office. Award amounts will vary, depending on the number of qualified students and the availability of funds. Eastside Future Teachers Program Scholarship
Each year, six students from the Eastside Union High School District (EUHSD) are selected for the Eastside Future Teachers Program Scholarship (EFTP). Students receive awards for four years of undergraduate study and a fifth year teaching credential at Santa Clara University. If the student demonstrates financial need, selected student will receive an award varied in amounts. Potential candidates are identified by the Eastside Future Teachers Program in consultation with the Eastside Union High School District.

NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
The National Science Foundation (NSF) Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S-STEM) program provides institutions funds for student scholarships to encourage and enable academically talented, but financially needy students to enter the workforce following completion of a baccalaureate in fields of science, technology, engineering or mathematics. The S-STEM program was established by NSF in accordance with the American Competitiveness and Workforce Improvement Act of 1998 (P.L. 105-277) as modified by P.L. 106-313 and P.L. 108-447 in 2004. The act reflects the national need to substantially increase the number of American scientist and engineers. At Santa Clara University the primary objective of the program is to increase the number of students enrolled in and successfully completing one of the two undergraduate degree programs of the Department of Computer Engineering at (408) 554-6805.

Santa Clara University Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship
The Santa Clara University Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship program with funding from the National Science Foundation, aims to prepare a total of twenty-four new science and mathematics teachers who are committed to teaching at the middle or high school level in two neighboring high-need school districts. East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD) and San Jose Unified School District (SJUSD). Starting in 2009, three yearly cohorts of approximately eight Santa Clara University seniors who are majoring in science, mathematics or engineering, will be selected from an applicant pool to become Noyce Teacher Scholars who each receive a $25,000 scholarship. These one-year scholarships will pay for almost 90% of the tuition and fees related to obtaining a single subject (mathematics or science) teaching credential in the highly respected, fifth-year, post-baccalaureate program in the SCU Department of Education (408-554-4723). After obtaining the teaching credential, Noyce Teacher Scholars will be required to teach for at least two years in a SJUSD school, an ESUHSD school or another qualifying high-need school.

Army ROTC
The Army ROTC is a campus-based program offering several scholarships. Scholarships range from partial tuition to full tuition and may include Santa Clara University on-campus room and board charges. Scholarship winners receive a tax-free stipend ranging from $250 to $400 for each academic month, plus an allowance for books and other educational items. Those students accepting an Army ROTC scholarship will incur a military obligation that can be fulfilled by either serving part-time in the Army National Guard, Army Reserve or full time on active duty.
