Association for Computing Machinery - Women's Chapter (ACMW)

In addition to the official mission of ACM-W, which is to celebrate, inform and support women in computing, and work with the ACM-W community of computer scientists, educators, employers and policy makers to improve working and learning environments for women, the Santa Clara University ACM-W chapter aims to facilitate a thriving community of women in computing through the organizing of great activities, networking, and mentorship programs. We aim to address the issue of retention of women in computer science by creating a support system for academic and professional pursuits and empowering our members to pursue their goals through knowledge and education about women's contribution to technology. For our second year, we will implement SCU's first mentorship program between upperclass and incoming students in the engineering school and work to foster a strong community among women in computing at SCU.
