Solar Decathlon 2009

Videos and Slideshows

SCU undergraduates collaborated with students from the California College of the Arts to design, engineer, and build a stunningly efficient 800 sq. ft. solar-powered home that proves that sustainable, green living does not have to involve compromise or sacrifice. Built on the Santa Clara University campus, the home was then dismantled and shipped to Washington, D.C. to compete in 10 contests against 19 other teams from colleges and universities in the United States and around the world in the 2009 U.S. Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon. The results: 1st place in architecture, 1st place in communications, 2nd place in engineering, and THIRD PLACE OVERALL!!
