Scott Abrahamson received his BSME from U.C. Berkeley and PhD in fluid mechanics from Stanford. He taught Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at Minnesota and Mechanical Engineering at Stanford. He consulted through Exponent, Inc. with a specialization in rotating flows he was recruited into the hard disk drive industry where he worked until joining Santa Clara University. Most recently he was VP of Mechanical and Servo Development at HGST. With a large international team, he was responsible for the design, manufacturability, and performance of the mechanical parts for all product families as well as the servo design for motion control.

Dr. Arun Banerjee is retired after having been a Principal Research Scientist at Lockheed’s Advanced Technology Center in Palo Alto. He holds Ph.D. degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (’69) and the University of Florida (’72) and has numerous publications on flexible multibody dynamics.
