Aaron Melman, a lecturer in the Department of Applied Mathematics, and computer engineering student Tobias Carothers (pictured, right) had a paper accepted for publication in the Pi Mu Epsilon Journal, the official journal of the national mathematics honor society. The paper, titled "Bounds on the location of critical points of a polynomial with all real zeros," was based on research carried out as part of the Kuehler Grant summer research program in 2006 when Carothers had just completed his freshman year.
