The International Summer Academy of Bioengineering and International Summer Academy of Pharmacy (ISAB and ISAP) is a 10 day summer science program, promoting interdisciplinary learning and culture exchange. This program spans two consecutive summers and is designed to be completed in two parts one international and one local. Participants will attend seminars with distinguished guest lecturers on topics ranging from Traditional Chinese Medicine to medical device engineering and manufacture, visit academic and commercial pharmaceutical/ bioengineering lab spaces, and have a chance to tour major cities in California, USA and Jiangsu Province, China.

General Description:Students will attend seminars, visit world-renown laboratories and companies, learn and experience about international medical care and pharmaceuticals, etc. Students will see the sights of Shanghai and the surrounding historical cities. SCU students will also network with students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University who have also been accepted to the two year International Summer Academy.
Cost:1) What's covered in China: housing, meals, transportation, and events related to the program are provided for accepted students for the duration of the program. 2) What's NOT covered by the program: a. International flights (suggest to search online for the best deal); b. personal expenses, for example, meals, transportation, and events that are NOT part of the scheduled program; c. $400 per student payable to the program.* Please see application for more details. *Attendees from SCU are expected to pay a discounted program fee (US $400) that will cover accommodation, meals, lectures and study tours. A limited number of need-based program fee waivers maybe available. To request a fee waiver, contact Prof. Yuling Yan (email@example.com) beforeMay 30th, 2015. You must be accepted to the workshop in order to be considered for a waiver.
