Lisa Goldstein, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Education Director, Teacher Education Programs
Dr. Lisa S. Goldstein teaches graduate classes in early childhood educational theory, curriculum, and teaching, and offers specialized coursework in qualitative research methodologies. Winner of the 2004 Dean's Distinguished Teaching Award and the 2004 Libba Shatto Massey Award for Excellence in Teacher Education at the University of Texas, where Lisa also served as Director of Early Childhood Teacher Education. She has published 2 books and over 20 journal articles on teaching and teacher education, particularly in relation to early childhood and elementary education. Lisa is currently involved in an empirical study of kindergarten teacher's pedagogical and curricular decision-making in an effort to understand how kindergarten teachers balance their commitment to developmentally appropriate practices with their responsibility to prepare their students to meet district expectations and state benchmarks for academic achievement.
