  •  SCU continues pursuit of multicultural learning with Difficult Dialogue Series

    After an eye-opening experience in her multiculturalism class that led her to a great deal of introspection, SCU Counseling Psychology student Daniela Velasquez took a portion of SCU’s mission to heart: “to serve and advocate with underrepresented, underserved, and disenfranchised populations locally and globally.”
  •  Award announcement for Shauna Shapiro

    Shauna Shapiro (Associate Professor, Counseling Psychology) has received a $50,000 award from The Mind and Life Institute, co-founded by the Dalai Lama. With her co-investigator, Dr. David Germano at University of VA, the fellowship will seek to integrate the perspectives of religious studies and psychological sciences in addressing the central question of context in contemplative practice.

  •  BBS notes high pass rate for Counseling Psychology graduates

    The California Board of Behavioral Sciences notes graduates of the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a track in Marriage and Family Therapy at Santa Clara University have a 92% pass rate on the written LMFT exam during 2013. See the data here.

  •  Counseling Psychology faculty selected to present at the 2014 American Psychological Association (APA) Convention

    Dr. Jerry Shapiro will present "Existential Psychotherapy: Best Evidence" and Dr. Arthur Bohart will present "Subjective Experience and Person-Centered Therapy" on the Division 32 Symposium entitled, Return to Future: Putting the Subject Back in Theory.
