On Site/ In Sight: Selections from the Permanent Collection

January 16 - March 12, 2010

Since its doors opened in 1955, the de Saisset Museum has built an impressive collection or more than 11,000 objects. On Site/ In Sight showcases highlights from the Museum's holdings in the areas of painting and sculpture, works on paper and photography by bringing an eclectic group of objects out of the private vault and into the sight of our viewers. The exhibition introduces some of the de Saisset's best kept secrets and revisits a selection of collection favorites.

On Site/ In Sight features works by prominent Bay Area artists Ansel Adams, Bruce Conner, Robert Bechtle, Inez Storer, and Henrietta Shore, among others. Well-known artists Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Michael Kenna, and Sebastião Salgado are also represented.
