Women of Color Conference

Laura Santamaria

Going to the Women of Color Conference was an inspirational experience. Being surrounded by all those women who cared for a holistic approach to activism was empowering and educational. I think that I brought back with me the idea of Spiritual Activism and a new bond was built with the SCU women with whom I attended the conference with. I attended the Making Literature Matter workshop which focused on Creative Writing to explore women's lives; the Yoga for People of Color Workshop which was a good space to center myself and the Decolonizing Food workshop which touched on issues of women as providers of food but also as the ones with the least access to it. The different workshops really provided a holistic approach activism and appreciation.
