  •  Lenten Reconciliation Opportunities

    Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015

    In addition to the regularly scheduled Monday opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation at 11:30 a.m., the Sacrament of Reconciliation will also be available on Sundays from 8-8:45 p.m. in the Reconciliation Room of the Mission Church (with the exception of March 25). A communal service will be held on February 25 at 8 p.m.

  •  Stations of the Cross

    In this annual opportunity to connect your own story to the story of Jesus' passion, we will walk around campus from station to station and listen to peer reflections about Jesus' journey to the cross.

    Catholic:
    March 4 | 8 p.m. | Meet at the Mission Church
    March 11 | 11 a.m. | Mission Church
    April 1 | 8 p.m. | SanFilippo Hall (Solidarity Walk sponsored by Xavier RLC and the CRS Student Ambassadors)

    Protestant:
    March 9 | 7 to 9 p.m. | Multifaith Sanctuary

  •  Ash Wednesday Services

    Ash Wednesday (2/18) is the beginning of the season of Lent. It reminds us that "you are dust and unto dust you shall return." At all of our services there will be an opportunity to receive ashes from a minister. Catholic liturgies are at 7:30 am, 12:05 pm, 6 pm, and 9 pm. A shared Catholic and Protestant service is at 4 pm.

    For years Catholic Relief Services has been collecting money during Lent for its work in developing countries. Look for Rice Bowls at your service desk in your RLC -OR- Pick up a rice bowl in Campus Ministry or the Mission Church. Add your change to the box at the end of each day. Return it on Palm Sunday, March 29, as a check written out to “Santa Clara University.”

  •  Protestant Lenten Group: Stations of the Cross

    March 9, 7 to 9 p.m., Multifaith Sanctuary (St. Joseph's Hall)
    We often experience the Stations of the Cross from a Catholic perspective. We will spend an evening learning about and reflecting on the Stations of the Cross from a Protestant perspective, followed by an experience of the Stations. You don't have to be Protestant to attend.

    Authors from around the world will offer short reflections from their experiences of caring for creation and the day’s mass readings. These daily reflections will examine our faith and how we practice environmental stewardship. From celebrating World Water Day on the Fifth Sunday of Lent, to questions of climate change, we hope this Lenten reflection series will deepen our commitment to our faith and the promotion of justice.
