Sacramental Formation

In support of the development of the whole person, Campus Ministry encourages students to learn, reflect and grow in faith through a variety of programs.
  • iconRite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.)

The RCIA process is for current SCU students who wish to explore questions of faith and potential initiation in the Catholic Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and/or 1st Eucharist (communion). Since the process varies according to background, the first step for inquirers to submit an online form and meet with John Michael Reyes, the Campus Minister who oversees the process. Students may begin the process at any point in the year.  For more information, please fill out the RCIA Inquiry Form.
  • iconConfirmation

The confirmation program at Santa Clara University is available every year for current SCU Catholic students (undergraduate and graduate). Alumni and community members may check their local parish for an adult confirmation program.

The preparation process includes an individual meeting with the Campus Minister coordinator, seven group sessions, the support and accompaniment of your sponsor, and the celebration of the sacrament at a Sunday liturgy. All Confirmation Candidates will be asked to submit an official copy of their baptism certificate.  (Please request one from the parish of baptism, and have it mailed to Campus Ministry with attn: John Michael Reyes).

Students who wish to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation in the future may contact John Michael Reyes to express your interest or to request a referral to a local parish.

To register for confirmation, please fill out the following Confirmation Registration Form
