    First Year Retreat

    Applications are now available for this year’s First Year Retreat! First year students, including transfer students, are welcome to join us for a weekend away in the Santa Cruz mountains to meet new friends and help cultivate a community in which we may reflect on the goodness, as well as the challenges, of this new season in life.     Common Ground

    Monthly Sunday worship

    We are starting a monthly Protestant worship service at SCU! We are looking for students interested in being worship leaders, musicians, readers, and even preachers! This is a new initiative to create monthly worship that is FOR students and BY students on campus. If you are interested in being part of this new initiative on campus, please contact Rev. Laura Brekke.

    Winter Break Immersion Trips

    "I am climate change, I am the cause, I am the solution"

    Thursday, October 15, 4-5:15 p.m., St. Clare Room, Library and Learning Commons

    In Laudato Si’, citing both science and theology, Pope Francis establishes the climate crisis as real, urgent, moral, and spiritual. He links the cry of the earth to the cry of the poor and casts these as expressions of the same underlying dynamic. In this lecture, Dr. Woo will consider the pope’s call for a conversion of heart to cherish the earth as God's creation and honor the dignity of people above profits, technology, and globalization.

    Sacrament of Reconciliation

    Mondays, 11:30 a.m.-12 p.m. and Sundays, 8-8:45 p.m., Mission Church

    These scheduled opportunities for individual confession with a priest are available when classes are in session. The reconciliation room is located on the right side of the Mission Church, next to the organ.

    Mindfulness Meditation

    Wednesdays, 5:15-6:10 p.m., Multifaith Sanctuary, St. Joseph’s Hall

    Take a moment from your busy schedule to be present to the moment and work to alleviate suffering. All are welcome. Come when you can; leave when you must.

    Magis/World Youth Day

    July 15-31, 2016, Krakow, Poland

    Campus Ministry plans to send a delegation of SCU students to next year’s Magis/World Youth Day--two related events that draw together Catholic youth from around the world. The application process will open in the fall of 2015, but we encourage you to review and complete this short form now for general information and to express your interest.
