Spirituality Tip #2509:
Find a few moments each day to clear your mind of everything.
November is the Month of Remembrance
We join with the church throughout the world in honoring The Month of Remembrance, a time set apart that invites us to remember and celebrate those who have gone before us in faith; loved ones who have died as well as all the holy men and women who are the Blessed Communion of Saints. Two significant ritual additions help us mark this sacred time.
1. The Altar of Remembrance: Rooted in the tradition of “Dia de los Muertos,” we are invited to bring mementos of loved ones and friends who have died, placing them on this altar as a sign of their presence with us.
2. The Book of Names: We are invited to inscribe the names of these loved ones and friends in this ritual book located adjacent to the Altar of Remembrance. The Book of Names will be processed to the main altar during our Eucharistic celebrations throughout the month of November.
