Philippine Politics and Governance (Political Science): This course will focus on the Philippines' presence both in Asia and in the wider International Political Economy. (Core E: Social Sciences; Service Learning) **4 credits Filipino Language and Culture (Modern Languages/Cultural Diversity):This course introduces students to the language and culture of the Philippines. Particular emphasis will be given to facilitate the student's ability to communicate in the praxis sites and understand the society, art and culture of the Philippines (Cultural Diversity) **4 credits Suffering, Solidarity and God (Philosophy/Theology): This course will examine a range of philosophical and theological questions that emerge as students critically engage experiences of interconnection, solidarity, and suffering in their praxis communities. (Core Area D: Theology and Religious Studies/Philosophy) **4 credits Inequalities of Class, Gender, and Ethnicity in the Philippines (Sociology):This course surveys theories on social inequality and, using selected case studies, provides a comprehensive examination of inequalities in the Philippines. (Core Area E: Social Science; Cultural Diversity) **4 credits
