  •  Professor Simone Appointed to Interim Director Position

    Dr. Patti Simone, a neuropsychologist, will assume the role of the Interim Director of Public Health Science Program in January 2015. She also serves as the Director of the University's interdisciplinary Gerontology Certificate Program.

  •  Professor Whitfield Advises SCU Psi Chi Chapter

  •  Professor Numan Elected Faculty Senate President

    Dr. Robert Numan, a behavioral neuroscientist and former department chair, was elected by the SCU faculty to serve as Faculty Senate President for 2015-2016. He is a strong advocate of faculty-student research, academic excellence, and shared university goverance.

  •  Professor Eleanor Willemsen Retiring from SCU

    Monday, Apr. 7, 2014

    Dr. Willemsen, a highly respected member of the psychology faculty and SCU community, will retire this year.  A developmental psychologist, she joined the department in 1971, as its third faculty member! A celebration is scheduled for May 29.

  •  Professor Sullivan Appointed Chair of Psychology Department

    Dr. Sullivan, a clinical psychologist, provides able leadership to the department at this important time. Her book, "The Handbook of Relationship Science and Couple Interventions", will be published by Oxford Press later this year.

  •  Professor Kathryn Bruchmann joins Psychology Faculty

    testDr. Bruchmann, a social psychologist and recent gradaute of the University of Iowa, joined the SCU faculty this fall. Her current reserach focuses on social comparison processes and how people make comparative judgements.

    Professor Lucia Albino Gilbert recently received the Leona Tyler Award, the most prestigious honor from the Society of Counseling Psychology of the American Psychological Association. The Leona Tyler Award recognizes Professor Gilbert's distinguished contributions as an accomplished scholar and visionary leader.
