Dear Campus Community,

On behalf of the College of Arts and Sciences, I wanted to share that the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies has officially changed our name to the Department of Gender and Sexuality Studies. Registration for Winter Quarter will include the new code section GNSX.

We made the decision to change our Department name and the name of our major and minor to more accurately reflect the evolution of our interdisciplinary field of study and the expansion of our curriculum and faculty expertise. Our ongoing consultations with students, faculty, and alumni indicate that this more inclusive and expansive frame will draw more students to our field of study and the distinct interdisciplinary academic community we cultivate within the Department.
