How do I declare a Biology major/minor?
To declare a Biology major or minor you must complete a Program Petition form and submit it to the Administrative Assistant in room 238 of the Alumni Science building.
What classes do I need to graduate?
Please see the majors page (under Academics); there is a list of courses needed for a Biology degree at Santa Clara.
How do I find out contact information for a Biology department professor?
Each quarter the department posts a list outside the department office indicating the office location, phone number, office hours, courses taught, and class time for each professor or lecturer teaching that quarter.
Where do I get forms for changing my major, petitioning to graduate?, etc
These forms are kept in the department office and can also be picked up in Student Records.
How can I get a copy of my Requirement Checklist?
You can stop by the Biology office and pick up a copy of the checklist or download the pdf here. How do I go about changing my advisor?
Fill out a "Change of Advisor" form and we will have the Department Chair sign it.
How do I petition to graduate?
Pick up a petition to Graduate and also a Pre-Graduation evaluation form from the Biology office. Make an appointment to meet with your academic advisor who will check your transcript with you and help you fill out the form. After you have completed the anonymous Senior Exit Survey the administrative assistant will give you your signed Pre-Graduation Evaluation form and your Petition to Graduate. You will then take both forms to Student Records.

Do any Biology courses fulfill Core Curriculum requirements?
Yes, there are a number of Biology courses that fulfill Core Curriculum requirements. Please see the Biology Core courses page for more information. You will find the page under the Academics heading.
