    Overview of courses and careers for SCU pre-health students. For pre-health advising, contact Steve Fedder, Pre-Health Advisor and Senior Lecturer in Chemistry and Biochemistry Department.

    SCU clubs for students interested in healthcare include: Pre-Health Club, Health Opportunities for Minority Students, the Global Medical Brigade, the Healthy Heart Club, and Women in Medicine. Some are listed on the Center for Student Leadership's club page.

    Peer Health Educators encourage, support and advance healthful living for all SCU students. You will learn the most current information on a variety of health related topics including general wellness, eating disorder/body image, alcohol and substance abuse, and sexual assualt prevention. You will gain leadership skills, develop teaching and public speaking skills and work with other students and campus staff.

    Run by SCU's Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, the Health Care Ethics Internship for undergraduates is a year-long program that brings you into hospital and hospice settings where you learn firsthand about ethical dilemmas in the medical field.

    Get trained and involved with EMS and provide quality medical care and emergency medicine to students and the community of Santa Clara University at night and on weekends when students need it the most.

    SCU's Sports Medicine program hires student interns to work with athletes.

  • iconPre-Health Summer Program, El Salvador

    This academic intiative is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in the health profession. You integrate classroom learning with experiential community-based learning in marginal Salvadoran communities. You have a praxis site (field placement) where you work four afternoons a week in either a hospital or clinic. Run by the Casa De La Solidaridad program.
