Mike Dana is a professor in the Finance department and can help students who are interested in majoring in finance or pre-law. He can also assist with general course planning, academic difficulties, and choosing a major.

Professor Dana teaches BUSN 85: Business Law. He is an attorney who brings to Santa Clara University a breadth of law practice and academic experiences. His diverse expertise equips him with insights into the full spectrum of legal issues that business students may face as they pursue a variety of career paths. He enhances his business law curriculum with the critical writing and human communication skills essential for resolving the legal challenges faced by business professionals, having sharpened his expertise in those interdisciplinary areas by teaching courses in conflict resolution, argumentation, public speaking, business communication, and group communication.

 

Dr. Fiona Ji is a professor in the Management department and can help students who are interested in majoring in Management or minoring in Entrepreneurship. She can also assist with general course planning, academic difficulties, and choosing a major. 

Dr. Ji teaches courses in strategic management, management principles, organizational change and leadership, innovation management, and international management. Her research focuses on how firms effectively balance exploitation and exploration in the situation of organizational learning and innovation. She is specifically interested in researching international firms and technology new ventures. She has worked with several multinational corporations based in France, China, and the United States. This interdisciplinary educational background and diverse industry experience in different countries inform both her teaching and research. 

Dr. Wenyao (Wendy) Ku can help students who are interested in majoring in Finance. She can also assist with general course planning, academic difficulties, and selecting a major.

Dr. Ku earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois in 2014. She has been teaching Investments and Financial Derivatives in the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University since 2015. Her research includes empirical studies on nonlinear interactions between extreme stock returns and large currency depreciation. She develops dynamic hedging techniques to mitigate portfolio’s downside risk using financial derivatives. She received an MBA degree from the University of Illinois and a BA in Chinese Literature and Economics from National Taiwan University.

Wendy Donohoe can assist students who are interested in majoring in Accounting, Accounting & Information Systems, and Information System Analytics. In addition to general academic advising, she can help students who are considering double majoring with a business major and one from either the School of Engineering or the College of Arts and Sciences. 

Professor Donohoe studied accounting and earned her M.B.A. from Santa Clara University in 1978 and her M.S. in Taxation from Golden Gate University in 1988. She began her career at Intel as an Internal Auditor, moved into public accounting with Deloitte & Touche’s Audit Department and then onto KPMG in their Tax Department. In 1984, her combined experience culminated in a position as Chief Financial Officer for a large regional family owned business. Professor Donohoe has been actively licensed in the state of California since 1981, maintains her license as active to date, and is a member of the AICPA. 

Professor Donohoe has been a lecturer at Santa Clara University since 1998 and has taught both Auditing and Taxation in addition to her mainstay course load in Managerial Accounting and Personal Financial Planning. She also works with students as a University Advisor for the Drahmann Advising and Learning Resources Center. 

 

Tony Nguyen can assist students who are interested in pursuing or who are actively a pursuing finance major. He also has a professional background in investment management and could advise about finance careers and the industry. 

Tony was formerly the Investment Director for Santa Clara University's Investment Office, where he spent 17 years helping manage the University’s endowment portfolio.  Prior to joining the Investment Office in 2005, Tony spent six years in the Investment Management Division at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in San Francisco.  In addition to his duties with the endowment, Tony is an adjunct lecturer in the Leavey School of Business where he has taught undergraduate and graduate Finance courses since 2002.  He is on the Investment Committees for the Diocese of San Jose and the Catholic Community Foundation of Santa Clara County.

Tony is a member of the CFA Society of San Francisco and also a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals (San Francisco Chapter) and is a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM). In 2007, the Professional Risk Managers' International Association conferred upon Mr. Nguyen the designation of Professional Risk Manager (PRM). Also in 2007, he earned the CAIA Charter designation from the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association. He is an alumnus of Santa Clara University.
