Dr. Gail Kirby is a lecturer in the Department of Marketing and a faculty advisor in the Retail Management Institute at the Leavey School of Business of Santa Clara University. Dr. Kirby received her Ph.D. in applied/consumer economics from the University of Maryland. Her professional experience includes retail management and merchandise buying for a major department store in Washington, D.C.
Professor Kirby teaches Principles of Marketing, Retail Management, Sustainability Marketing, Services Marketing, Retail Studies Senior Seminar, and Marketing Across Cultures. She is a member of the National Retail Federation, American Marketing Association and the American Collegiate Retailing Association. Dr. Kirby has also taught Principles of Marketing and Business Strategies for the University of California, Santa Cruz and the Naval Postgraduate School. Professor Kirby serves as a consultant to retail businesses and publishers.
